Whilst on mobile patrol yesterday (24/09) two young males were seen riding a modified electric bike on Ackhurst Road Chorley. The bike was then seen to go onto Euxton Skate Park where there have been recent reports of ASB involving electric bikes/off road bikes. It was then seen stopped on the A581, where the rider proceeded to make off from police and speed up the A581. The passenger was stopped and given strong words of advice in front of their parents.

I would like to reiterate to parents that any modified or electric bike is illegal for children to ride on roads/public spaces, as they have no driving licence or insurance. Some of these bikes can reach speeds of 90mph and are extremely dangerous for children to be riding, especially as they rarely wear helmets or protective clothing either.

 Enquiries are ongoing to try and identify the rider of the electric bike. If anyone has any information regarding ASB on Euxton Skate Park then please get in touch.
